AWS Outage Impacts Major Web Sites

Twitter and other social media sites were buzzing yesterday about an Amazon Web Services Inc. outage in the eastern U.S. that reportedly caused problems for several major Web sites.
According to the AWS Service Health Dashboard (US East), the Northern Virginia region experienced problems with multiple services including CloudWatch, Simple Email Service and Lambda.
According to a Twitter programmer/developer, Saytajeet, who tweeted that it had brought down Netflix, Medium and Amazon Echo, among other sites, the problem was with the latter.
